As we had never been here and had
terrible directions we decided to make
this first trip during daylight.
Arriving at Satan Church was an
accomplishment all by itself.  Arming
ourselves with  very few credible
directions, a road map and soft drinks
all around we took off to find this site.

Have you ever heard the expression
"You can't get there from here"?  It
certainly describes the location of the
Satan Church. After driving seemingly
aimlessly for what seemed like hours
we finally found it.  We had to go into
another county and take one of their
county roads to another county road
that then crossed back into Howard
County in order to find the dead end
road that the church and cemetery are
on.
We could see the church setting way
back on a small gravel "road" with
nothing near it, except the cemetery,
for miles.
The first thing we noticed was the
absolute quiet as we got out of our
cars.  The church itself is boarded up,
with no power lines attached to the
building at all.  No Trespassing and
Private Property signs were posted
everywhere.  There were apparent
hatchet/ax marks on the back
door(these could be seen from the
edge of the cemetery)as though
someone had tried to break into the
church after it was boarded up.  There
was a garage/shed between the
church and cemetery with a drive
leading to it.  What looked like a peep
hole had been roughly cut into the door
facing the drive.  We estimated that it
would be eye level for someone about
6' tall.  The remains of a large bonfire
were found at the foot of the drive
(near the road)
The cemetery was lovely.  Extremely
well cared for.  The sign for the
cemetery was Prairieville Cemetery.
Nothing really out of the ordinary
except the remains of another large
bonfire at the back of the cemetery
under a large tree.  Leaves above the
bonfire site were very scorched.
Local rumor about this site is that
either Satan Worshippers or drug
dealers use this area for their own
business.  We have no way of knowing
if either rumor has any basis in fact.
A little closer look at the front door to
Satan Church
View from the cemetery of the church and garage.
Close Up of the "peep hole" in the garage
door which faces the driveway.  The painted
over graffiti says "Jesus was here"
Looks like a bonfire has been laid out ready
for a lit match in the same area the remains
of one were in the last time we were here.
We think  it was the grounds keepers
cleaning up after the winter.

Arrived at 1:05 am
Clear night, 2 days prior to full moon.

After arriving and readying our equipment we divided into small groups and explored the cemetery
and around the church itself.  No one noticed anything out of the ordinary although we did get a few
orbs in some pictures.  We left the area at 1:40 am.

Satan Church
Looks pretty normal until you notice the boarded up
windows and door as well as the complete lack of
power lines to the building.
