This is our own list of places in Indiana that have earned the reputation for being haunted.

We do not claim that any of the listed places are actually haunted.  We are simply relating the
"current" stories about them.

Any of the locations that have been investigated by the IAE will be underlined and linked to the
page relating to that particular location.

Counter
Anderson

Cry Baby Bridge: This bridge was the sight of a terrible car crash.  Police and rescue workers
arrived and took the 2 adults to the hospital.  After arriving there they discovered that a baby
had also been in the car.  Returning to the scene of the accident they found the baby dead.  If
you drive over this bridge you are supposed to hear the baby crying.

Gruenwald Historic House: During a Full Moon there have been numerous reports of paranormal
activity here.

Lindberg Road: There is a Haunted House on Lindberg Road near Alex Pike where the house caught
fire with the family inside.  All family members escaped except for the middle son who perished
in the fire.  His body was never found.  Reported activity here includes hissing sounds,
pictures drawn in the ashes by a phantom wind, lamps moving and a ghostly chandelier which
appears to be hanging one minute and gone the next.

Mounds State Park: Reported sightings of "blue gowned dwarfs" known as puk-wud-ies in Delaware
Indiana legends.  This tribe of little people that live in the forest have been seen in the park
and along the banks of the nearby White River.

Old Anderson High School: It has been reported that a young girl was raped and killed in the
basement of the gym.  You can hear her screaming there still.  In addition to that, ghosts have
been seen on the second floor of the high school.  They have been reported to throw things at
you if you refuse to leave.

Circle Hill Cemetery: Tall, black hooded figures have been seen roaming this cemetery at night.  
Most visitors to this cemetery do not return for a second visit.

Sigma Phi Epsilion House: This site is located at Tri state University.  It is haunted by a
young woman who reportedly died there.

Town Circle: A man with a long red beard appears on the top of the movie theater near the circle
pacing on the roof at midnight.  If you listen carefully you will hear him sobbing and crying
out in a screeching voice "Marie...come back to me".  You are also supposed to his him sobbing
during movies shown here.

Wing Haven Nature Preserve: A spirit or demon was reported to have been released in this area
approximately 25 - 30 years ago by a Coven during one of their ceremonies.  The spirit/demon is
contained in the stream but will attempt to make contact if you get too close.  Feelings of
suicide and violent urges, electrical problems and flat tires are some of the paranormal
occurrences that have been reported here.


Attica

Mudlavia Hotel and Spa: Located between Attica and Kramer, this hotel started out as a
Sanitarium until an unexplained fire on February 29, 1920 destroyed the main building.  It was
rebuilt in the 1960s as a Health Spa/Rest Home when natural mineral springs having therapeutic
properties were discovered. Rumors of Chicago gangsters spending time here are repeated often. A
second unexplained fire closed the Spa in the Spring of 1968.  Rebuilt a third time in 1968 as a
restaurant it was successful until a third unexplained fire closed the place for good in the mid
70s.   The buildings are simply shells of what they once were. Lately rumors of either Satan
Worshippers or the KKK using the area for ceremonies/meetings have been passed around.  Reported
paranormal activity include a baby crying, car engine running, lights, mists, figures running
through the woods and the sound of music.  The structure has stairs leading to a hallway full of
doors, supposed satanic symbols painted in certain areas and a lower level that drains all
energy from batteries.

Aulfordsville

Haunted School Gym: Located in a very small town the local school gym has been the site of
paranormal activity.  At 1 am sounds of children playing and people wandering around the gym
have been reported here.

Haunted House: Located outside of town this house is supposedly possessed by violent spirits.  A
man killed his entire family then ended up strangled 2 days later at the hands of the spirits of
his family.  One room in the house always registers 50 degrees regardless of the outside
temperature.  Possibly rain falling in other rooms.


Austin

Austin High School: A Spanish teacher was killed in a car accident sometime during the 80s.  Her
spirit is said to haunt the halls of the school late at night.  Beatles music seems to summon
her.


Avon

The Haunted Bridge: This railroad trestle crosses White Lick Creek.  Built in the 1850s by
mostly Irish workers.  One of the workers was killed when a wooden platform collapsed dropping
him into freshly poured cement.  Sinking into the cement too quickly for anyone to save him, the
other workers stated that they could hear him as he was drowning in the cement.  The company
refused to demolish the concrete pylon in order to remove his body.  Workers reported the sounds
of hammering coming from inside the pylon where he perished.  You can hear the man's final
scream if you stand near this bridge.  Years later, after the bridge was demolished, a figure of
a man was seen attempting to flag down oncoming trains.


Barbee Lake

The Barbee Hotel: Known as a high class hotel during Al Capone's time this hotel is reportedly
haunted.  Capone stayed in room 301.  Reports of the smell of his cigars in this room, a old man
sitting in the bar but gone when the bartender turned his back he was gone and lights in the
room that Rita Hayworth stayed in.  Parties taking pictures here have reported orbs in them.


Bargersville

Podunk:  Old small town near Bargersville.  Frequented by city teens, it has the reputation of
being a really weird and freaky place.  Drive onto the bridge, turn off your car and sit quietly
and you will see a baby crawl across the bridge.  You also might hear it either laughing or
crying.


Bartonia

Headless Man: On Greenville Pike turn right at the stop sign.  Turn left onto the first gravel
road, go past the bridge, turn around and go back over the bridge.  Stop and wait a few seconds
then turn around and back over the bridge slowly.  You will see a man on horseback without a
head.  The farther you get from the bridge, the closer he will seem to be.

Bass Lake

Bass Lake Cemetery: One of the headstones in this cemetery is surrounded by thick bladed grass
which is green during the day but blood red at night.  Holding a lighter below the picture on
the headstone causes the picture of the man to change  to a bearded Satan like figure surrounded
by flickering flames.  At times he appears to be laughing.  This only works at night.  There are
also reports of a werewolf like creature roaming about and charging at the cars.

Old Haunted Hospital: Located near the Romanian Hotel just a little ways into the woods is all
that remains of the hospital...the basement.  The furnace is still there.  The janitor is
supposed to still be here looking out for the property.  Various noises(human sounding) have
been heard here but, no one (alive) has been seen in the area.

Batesville

St. Louis Cemetery: Long ago the townspeople believed that an Indian woman living here was a
witch.  They chased her on horseback into the cemetery and buried her alive.  The stone marking
her grave has a stone door surrounded by iron bars.

Battlefield

The Battlefield Memorial: A horrendous battle was fought at this site marked by a memorial in
the 1800s.  When you are close to the creek after dark you will see human figures running
through the woods, hear the sounds of battle and cries.  It is also reported that no matter how
exhausted you  are you will never be able to fall asleep in this area.

Bellmore

Old Bellmore Schoolhouse: The schoolhouse is now in ruins.  All that remains of the school are
the outhouses, sidewalks and part of the sign which gives the date of the school.  A trailer is
now on the property.  On the grounds of the ruin extreme temperature changes have been recorded.
 The sound of a young boy, who was reportedly killed and placed in one of the furnaces, playing
or screaming can be heard in the area that was the boiler room.  If you go to this area after
dark bricks and rocks will fly through the air towards you.   

Bloomington

Binford Elementary School: It is said that when the Elementary School was the Middle School a
janitor was killed in the janitor's closet by 3 students.  He still haunts the school appearing
as a man wearing a black coat roaming the halls of the school.  A man wearing a black cloak is
also reported to appear in the auditorium after dark.

Indiana University:
The Career Center:
Years ago rumor says that a doctor performed illegal abortions in the
building that is now the Career Center.  The spirits of those aborted children haunt the
building.

The Folklore Office: Supposed to be haunted by a former chairman.

The Memorial Union: Human ghosts (suicides) along with the ghost of a dog have been seen in this
area.

The Lily Library: Reported as haunted, but can find no legend/story about this one.

Reed Hall: The legend is that a former medical student went mad one night and killed his
girlfriend.  He hid her body in one of the tunnels in the basement.  He later confessed to the
murder and led police to the body.  The ghost of the girlfriend is said to appear wearing a
bloody nightgown and to have long black hair.  She has been seen wandering the hallways in
various places as well as in her old room or the room she was murdered in.


Paris Dunning House: This house was part of the underground railway system that helped runaway
slaves escape to the North.  Doors open/close, papers can be heard as they are moved around and
books fall off their shelves.  This house is located at 608 W. Third St.

Porticos: This was once a restaurant.  Customers have claimed to see the face of a young girl in
the bathroom mirror and to have heard children laughing and playing upstairs.

Read Dorm: Very late at night on December 12th, on the 6th floor, you are supposed to hear a
young woman scream.  She is the ghost of a student that flung herself down the stairs to her
death.  It has been reported that she was overworked and overstressed.  Rumor is that her name
was Paula.

Stepp Family Cemetery: Located in the Hoosier National Forest there are several reported haunts
associated with this cemetery.  A ghost woman whose infant died and is buried there has been
reported sitting on a tree stump at the East end of the cemetery.  She is humming to her dead
child.
Another story is of 2 brothers that fought to their death over their inheritance.  The brothers
are both buried in this cemetery.  Some of the things reported in this area are car engines
dying, sighting of the woman or other shadowy figures, the sound of the woman humming a tune to
her dead child.

Bluffton

Red Bridge/Children's Playground: At the turn of the century the apostolic Church had a
playground for the children.  This playground was run by an old man.  All of the children loved
him but, for unknown reasons, most adults hated him.  His body was found in the Wabash river
near the Red Bridge.  The victim of a brutal murder.  It is rumored that late at night you are
to go onto the bridge and lie down.  You will then hear the sound of children laughing and
playing.  On some nights you can also hear the murdered man pounding on the bottom of the bridge.

The Rittenhouse Restaurant: Years ago this was a Funeral Home and Morgue.  The story is that you
will see ghosts or spirits as well as smell death when you are here.

Bobtown

The "Coffin": In the 60s a police officer busted up a party that was being held on a deserted
gravel road in Bobtown.  The teens supposedly killed him and placed his body in the trunk of a
hollow tree.  The tree then grew around him and became his unofficial coffin.  If you drive down
this road at night you may see his eyes watching you from the trunk of his tree "coffin".  This
road is supposed to block all external light somehow so that the only light you will see on the
road is your own headlights.

Boonville

Scales Lake: This area is reported to be haunted by Black Annie.

Bourbon

8th Road Haunted House: A family consisting of husband, wife, daughter and son lived in this
house with adjoining woods. The house is boarded up but, the furniture is still inside.  The
wife and daughter were raped and killed.  Their bodies were thrown into the woods.  The father
and son were killed and their bodies hung in the barn. If you look into the barn at midnight you
will see the ropes hanging but they will not be there during the daylight hours.

Brazil

100 Step Cemetery: If you climb the steps located on the grassy side of the cemetery (counting
as you go) then turn to face the open field the ghost of the first undertaker will appear and
reveal your death to you in a vision.  When you climb back down the stairs you must count the
steps again.  If you get the same number of steps as on the upward climb then the vision you
were given is wrong and you will not die in that way.  If the numbers are different then the
vision is correct about the manner of your death.  If you attempt to enter the cemetery without
climbing the steps you will be pushed down by a "phantom hand" which can leave a red mark on
you.  Sometimes it can be seen for several days afterward.  

Haunted Church: Located on 300W just down from Spook Light Hill this old church is reported to
be haunted.  The steeple has a broken cross on it which can sometimes look like a figure is
hanging from it.  Lights move past you and across to the church, figures can be seen apparently
looking at you from the church through the broken vents and windows.  No matter the weather when
you are there a wind will start to blow during your investigation here.

Hell's Gate: To get to Hell's Gate you drive through Brazil, over a bridge until you come to
county road 1500.  Turn left and continue on this road until you come to an old train tunnel.  
This tunnel has a lot of graffiti. You drive into the tunnel and stop, then flash your
headlights 3 times (quickly) before driving through the tunnel, turning around and driving back
into it.  Stop the car, turn off the engine and wait at least 10 - 15 minutes.  The graffiti is
supposed to glow and blood is reported to drip down the walls of the tunnel.  Your name may
appear on the wall.  If it does then you will hear (and feel) banging on the roof and windows of
the car.  When the banging stops, drive out of the tunnel and look at the tree where you may see
2 kids bodies hanging there.  The rumor is that if your name appears on the tunnel wall and you
also see the bodies in the tree you will die shortly afterward.

Indian Burial Ground: An old cemetery on a hill where an Indian was rumored to have buried
himself alive.(no one seems to know why)  At midnight if you stand quietly you will hear the
sounds of drums and  howling.  You may even see the shadowy figure of the Indian.

Spook Light Hill: If you park on this road and flash your headlights 3 times you will see a
light coming toward you and seeming to scan the areas to the side of the road.  It is reported
to be the ghost of a father looking for his dead daughter's head.

Bremen

Little Egypt: Located in Marshall County on Hawthorn and County Rd 5A (5A goes around the
cemetery) There are a multitude of stories about this cemetery.  While driving around the
cemetery handprints are supposed to appear on the windows, a phantom farmer (killed in a nearby
field) will chase you out of the cemetery, a nickel placed on a baby's tombstone (no idea which
baby) will cause the ghost of the baby to cry and last but not least on certain nights the
sounds of a girl screaming, as she is being raped and murdered in the nearby woods, may be heard.

Troll Bridge: Just down the road from Little Egypt is Troll Bridge.  Park a little ways from the
bridge.  As you are walking over this bridge a 7' - 8' "dark thing" will come out from under the
bridge and either chase you or throw rocks and other things at you.

Bridgeport

Captain Frank's Tomb: A thoroughly unpleasant sea captain chose to be buried (in an elaborate
tomb) on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River so he could shout curses at the passing ship
captains.  His ghost has been seen here along with a light mist or fog that seems to settle over
his tomb.

Bristol

Bristol Opera House: This location is home to "Percy".  He apparently likes to frighten ladies
in particular but has been known to make his presence apparent to men as well.  He moves props
onstage (sometimes during productions), roams throughout the stage and costume room, has tapped
the costume mistress on the shoulder while she was working, hidden in the stage curtains and
occasionally brushes against the actors.  No one seems certain if he was a former employee or
actor.

Haunted House: There is an old house located just before the state line as you travel on 15.  If
you stop your car and watch the house the former owner will open the curtains and wave to you.  
The house is located on 15 North just past the Toll Road on ramp on the left.

Brushy Prairie

The Lady in White: Between the hours of Midnight and 5:00 am the Lady in White has been reported
walking on US Highway 20 toward the Brushy Prairie Cemetery.  She appears to be wearing a white
wedding dress.  If you see her and pull over to offer her a ride she will disappear before your
eyes.  This apparition is most active around the holidays.

Bunker Hill

Peaceful Acres Trailer Park: Behind Lot #3 is an old chicken coop.  There is a ghost in the
woods behind it that has been seen wearing a bandana, floating above the coop while looking at
you with hunger.  He is known as the Toothless Wonder.

Butler

Land of Moses: An old cemetery here has a reputation for being haunted.  The story is that in
the early 1900s a band of gypsies raped a local farmers' daughter.  The farmer and his friends
murdered all of the gypsies in an act of vengeance. The men involved in the death of the gypsies
were murdered with an ax and their bodies left in the woods near the cemetery over the next 10
years.  This area is extremely dark and surrounded by dense woods.  If you go to the cemetery
and park near the Crematorium you may hear the sound of people crying.  Explore the wooded area
where the farmers bodies were found at your own risk.  This site is located outside of Butler
off State Road 6, to the right and over the railroad tracks.

Burlington

Old Sycamore Haunted Bridge: If you drive over this bridge in excess of 20 mph a white car will
appear and chase you.  The car will continue to chase you in such a way as to cause you to have
an accident in which you will die.


Cedar Lake

Macarther Woods: Voices telling you to KILL have been heard in these woods, people have reported
being touched or grabbed by invisible hands and a gun appears pointed at you.  The homes located
in or near the woods have been found with items moved around and glowing lights appear near the
homes.

Rock Quarry: This rock quarry has been in existence since the late 1900s.  Located next to the
quarry are two houses that were used as a home for orphaned or abandoned boys.  It has been
stated that the man who owned and operated this home was in his late 50s and was mentally
unstable.  On the night of November 14(unsure of the year) the mans wife came home early and
found her husband forcing himself on one of the boys in a bedroom.  She screamed.  The man beat
her to death and dragged her body to the quarry where he hid it. He then went back to the home
and murdered all 25 boys in his care.  He disposed of their bodies in the same quarry.  If you
go to this quarry on any night, except November 14, you will hear the sound of the boys laughing
and playing.  On November 14th you will hear the sounds of the wife and the boys screaming as
they are being murdered along with the sound of the man grunting in exertion as he hides their
bodies.

Selysions Private School: An abandoned boy's school in Cedar Creek which was run by a local
Minister.  The boys were all killed (shot, drowned or hung)by the Minister.  When walking inside
the school you can hear the sound of boys whispering, catch glimpses of them at their school
desks, hear the boys crying and screaming and possibly see words written in blood.

Centerville

Blue Clay Falls: This is a falls outside of Centerville near Abington Road where a group of
people have been spotted holding some sort of meeting or get together.  They are walking along
when they will disappear.

Chapel Road Church and Cemetery: If you back into the Church driveway, put your car in park,
turn off the ignition and simply sit quietly for a bit you may find more than you bargained for.
 The sound of dogs in distress, handprints appearing on your windows, entities "walking" around
the car and the temperature inside the car will drop to a very uncomfortable cold level.

Charlestown

10 Penny Bridge: This bridge located on Tunnel Mill Road is haunted by a "bum" that died on it.  
Park at the entrance to the bridge and turn your car off, place 10 pennies on the bridge in a
straight line.  When you try to start your car you will have a hard time getting it to start.  
Once you get your car started look at the place you placed the pennies.  They will either be
missing or scattered all around the bridge.

Charlestown High School: After the new auditorium was built a girl was pushed off the catwalk as
a joke by a male student.  She died from her injuries.  She haunts the auditorium especially
when male students are on stage during a performance.  Reports of lights being turned off and
loud stomping noises coming from the catwalk during performances.  Authorities state that no
such accident ever happened.  You decide.

Chesterfield

Chesterfield Christian Church: In the 40s a homeless man was found dead in the basement near the
boiler room.  A cause of death has never been determined.  Reports of lights turning on at
night, doors opening and closing, water running, banging and handprints on the mirrors in the
bathroom next to the boiler room.  The church has been searched by the police and no sign of
forced entry or vandalism have been found.

Chesterton

Diana of the Dunes: Legend has it that a beautiful woman was living in this area as a hermit in
1915.  Fishermen reported seeing her swimming nude in the lake.  The woman's name was Alice
Marble Gray.  In the 20s she met with a n'er do well named Paul Wilson, lived with him and
eventually married him.  Alice died near Michigan City in 1925 from Uremic Poisoning that had
been complicated by repeated blows(from her husband) to her back and stomach. Alice was happiest
during her time near Dunes State Park and her spirit has been seen walking or running along the
sand or entering the water for another of her nude swims.

Haunted Bridge: The ghost of a man has been spotted near the underpass/bridge on Route 6
wandering around and looking for the train that he fell(or was pushed)from back in the 1900s.

Clarksville

Colgate Palmolive Factory: The factory was a prison a long time ago. There are vague reports of
paranormal activity in the basement of this building. It is located in Clarksville, Indiana but
can be seen from the riverfront in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.  If you look across the river
and see a huge clock then you are looking at the factory.

The Sunset Grill Restaurant: Once a family home this building is now a restaurant.  Employees
have reported finding all of the light bulbs in the building taken out of the light fixtures and
setting on the tables when they arrive in the morning, along with hearing "odd" noises
throughout the building while they are working.  Formerly known as The McCullough Steak House.

Columbia City

Haunted Funeral Home: This building, which houses the Home Health Care Agency of a Ft. Wayne
Hospital, was once a funeral home.  Since the agency was opened they have experienced a lot of
paranormal activity here.  Chairs and other furniture moving around by themselves, unexplainable
problems with the electrical systems for the building, children seeing "people" moving about the
building when adults cannot see them, and a definite lack of interest from the staff to remain
in the building after dark.

Cloverdale

Cloverdale Cemetery: As far as we can determine there is only one reported sighting in this
cemetery which was told by 2 young women(age unknown) driving through the cemetery around
midnight.  They stopped their car, flipped the headlights to High Beam on one of the tombstones.
 What appeared to be a casket covered by a tarp could be seen sitting on the grave.  As they
watched an old man wearing a black cloak and carrying a lantern appeared next to the grave and
looked in the direction of the 2 women.  They left the area, circled the cemetery and returned
to the spot where this occurred.  There was no sign of the casket or the man.

Columbus

North High School: Over a hundred years ago there was a dirt road where the school auditorium
now stands.  A boy named Mike(or Mikey) was walking down this road when a farmer ran him over
with his wagon.  Mike died from his injuries.  Mikey can be seen and heard throughout the
auditorium.  Usually in the sound booth or on the catwalk.  He sometimes turns off lights or can
be seen as a fleeting shadow out of the corner of your eye running across the stage.

Haunted Railroad Bridge: A creature with yellow eyes guards this bridge.  It can usually be seen
close to midnight.  There is a story in the area from the 1920s about a young woman with an
out-of-wedlock baby.  The rumors and snide remarks from the townspeople became too much for her
and she jumped to her death from this bridge with her baby in her arms.  Reports of a baby
crying, or the woman walking the bridge looking for her child have been made, especially on
nights with a Full Moon.

Subway Restaurant: Located on 46 West this building has been the site of numerous reports from
employees of strange noises coming from the back room or behind the building as well as a
shadowy figure walking across the back of the store.

Quality Machine and Tool: An employee hung himself here over his problems(romantic in nature).  
Shadowy shapes have been seen at night.  Items seem to vanish for no apparent reason.

Commiskey

The Old Nealy Land: Sightings of gray mist, figures(usually a man and woman) roaming inside the
home located here, cold spots, items disappearing and reappearing elsewhere along with hearing
your own name spoken when no one is nearby.

Corydon

Blue River: The local story is that of a young woman paddling down the river in a canoe.  As a
prank, someone had tied fishing line across the river.  When the young woman came to that part
of the river she was travelling fast.  The line cut her head completely off.  She is reputed to
be looking for her head every night along the river.

Crane

Crane Cemetery: Located just down the road from the abandoned Crane School, this cemetery has a
tombstone that is supposed to glow (only on certain nights).  After entering the cemetery you
are to turn off your headlights and drive straight ahead. A tombstone will start glowing as you
approach it but the glow will fade the closer you get to the tombstone.  If you look back toward
the tombstone as you are leaving the cemetery you will see it glowing again.

Crawfordsville

Haunted Cemetery: This cemetery is the home of a tree stump that was carved into a chair.  This
"chair" is near the grave of an infant.  The infants mother had the chair carved in order to be
able to be near her baby.  One morning the woman was found dead in the chair with her dead baby
in her arms.  She had removed her baby from it's grave and spent the previous night holding and
rocking her baby while sitting in the chair.  Rumor was that she had taken her own life over her
grief for her child.  If you go to this cemetery and sit in the chair you will surely die within
7 years.

Haunted House: A ranch style house sitting on a hill (on 450 W near Davis Bridge) is haunted.  
Deaths come in threes in this area, a lot of energy and activity has been reported here.  The
original house and land was the site of rodeos until it burned down in the 40s.

Spooky Hollow Bridge: A bridge near Offield Monument is the site of paranormal activity.  If you
drive onto the bridge, shine a light under the bridge and then flash your headlights 3 times you
will see a body hanging from one of the upper beams of the bridge.  Reports of cars dying for no
reason while parked on the bridge have also been made here.

Offield Monument: This monument is located near Spooky Hollow Bridge on the side of the road.  
It commemorates the date the area was founded.  If you go to this monument on Halloween Night at
midnight and read the inscription by candlelight, the date will mysteriously change.

Crown Point

Crown Point High School: Strange noises, and apparitions walking along the auditorium catwalks
have been reported here.  There is also a lot of activity in the gymnasium.  Lights turning off
and on, a basket ball cart moving on it's own and the balls bouncing out of the cart and along
the gym floor.

Gypsy Graveyard: Glowing figures coming towards you, the look and smell of fresh dirt over very
old (1800s) graves.  Be Careful here.  Reports of people being attacked while visiting here are
very prevalent.

Old Lake County Jail: This is the jail that John Dillinger made his infamous "carved soap gun"
escape.  Used until the 1960s as a jail there are numerous reports of orbs, cell doors slamming,
dogs barking, people talking and actual apparitions.

Cunot

Catract Bridge: In the 1930s a man lost his farm during the depression.  In his dispair he hung
himself from the bridge over the Catract Lake.  Late at night you may see him walking on or near
this bridge with the noose still around his neck.  Be careful as he is supposed to throw himself
in front of any moving vehicle.

Daleville

Witches Circle: There is a rumored area in or around Daleville that has been and is still being
used by a Coven of Witches.  If you happen onto this area a woman in white is supposed to appear.

Danville

Danville Bridge: reports of the sound of crying and moans have been heard at this bridge.  The
two most popular stories are (1) A woman threw herself from a train traveling over this bridge
and plunged to her death. (2) An Irish construction worker fell into a form filled with wet
cement, they were unable to rescue him and his body was sealed into the bridge for eternity.

Decatur

Adams County Cheese Factory: This building has been torn down.  There are rumors of occult
activity in the area.  This area is located near the Kukelhan Mansion.

Covered Bridge: Teenagers attempting a seance drew a pentagram on the floor of this bridge.  
During the seance a "man" fell from the ceiling of the covered bridge onto the pentagram,
leaving behind a large bloodstain.  The general belief is that through sheer dumb luck these
teens opened a doorway to the other side.  While walking through the bridge feelings of
something "just not right", along with odd noises have been reported.

Kukelhan Mansion: This mansion, located north of Decatur(East of US 27 and not far from North
Pointe Sub Division) was once owned by a wealthy man.  He was extremely paranoid and thought
that everyone was trying to steal his money.  One night he went completely insane and murdered
his entire family then hung himself.  No one seems to be able to spend any amount of time at
this location.

Diamond

Hell's Gate: A train trestle has been dubbed as Hell's Gate following a tragedy in the past
involving a train derailment.  Echoes of this tragedy have been heard on this trestle. The
sounds of people laughing, the crash itself and then people screaming horribly are some of the
phenomena reported here.

Disko

Gravel Pits: A woman dressed in purple rags has been reported roaming throughout the gravel pits
near the town of Disko.

Donaldson

Ancilla College and Convent: The college and convent have tunnels running beneath them.  Nuns
have been seen walking these tunnels.  They either walk through the walls or disappear
altogether.  Doors slam and items fall off the shelves in the kitchen of the motherhouse,
windows and doors open and close by themselves and people have reported being touched when
walking through the tunnels.

Dublin

Crying Woman's Bridge: This bridge is located on Heacock road and has been blocked off at both
ends.  One end has a livestock gate across it while the other end has a large dumpster blocking
it.  You are supposed to hear a woman crying and calling the name of her dead child when you are
on this bridge.

Dunkirk

Blood Road: Just off Eaton Pike outside of Dunkirk on County Road 700 is the stretch of road
known as Blood Road to the locals.  The legend here is that a farmer, whose young son liked to
jump out of the bed of the pickup while it was moving, wanted to teach his son a lesson.  He
fastened a chain around the waist of his son.  During the drive home the pickup went over a
large bump in the road.  The boy fell out and the unknowing farmer drug his son over 2 miles
down the road, killing him. Distraught about his sons' death the farmer is rumored to have
buried him in the basement of their farmhouse. You are supposed to drive down this road heading
West, turn around at the crossroad and head back East on the road.  After crossing the bump in
the road you are supposed to see a visible trail of blood for the next 2 miles.  The farmhouse
is reported to be haunted.

Dyer

Kahler School: The part of the building that was reported as haunted has been torn down.

Edinburgh

Atterbury Job Corps Center: In the Simon Bolivar dormitory voices have been heard throughout the
night, when looking out the window towards Martin Luther King you may see a woman walking with
her own head in her hands.  Glowing yellow eyes have been reported looking out from the woods,
assorted noises have been heard throughout this campus.  Last of all, to the left of the woods
near the Field House a man scarred by burns stands holding a bag of blood.

Elkhart

Haunted Farm: Located on 28 this farm is the site of lights and radios turning on or off by
themselves, the television changing channels with no one near it or the remote.  Voices and a
faint shadowy figure have also been reported here.  During the night blankets have been roughly
pulled off the unsuspecting sleeper.  Unkmown faces have been seen in mirrors located in the
house.

Ellettsville

Matthews Mansion: Voices and other strange things have been reported here.

Elnora

Elnora Cemetery: Rumor is that on certain nights(no one seems sure which nights) one of the
tombs here will begin to give off a glowing light.

Evansville

Haunted House: Near St. Joe Mini Mart off #6 School Road lies an abandoned house which is
reported to be over 140 years old.  If you park on the road in front of the house and look to
the upper right bedroom window you may see an apparition moving around in the window.

Carpenter House: Now the home of WNIN, staff and volunteers have reported sightings of old
Willard Carpenter.  Strange noises and items being moved around have also been reported here.

Evansville Life Center: Located on the Southside of Evansville this building was once a Catholic
Church with tombs for the nuns in the basement burial area.  In 1985 workers began a remodeling
project of the old church, including the removal of all those buried below.  The project was
completed at noon on June 8, 1985.  A fierce storm broke at 12:30 pm and raged throughout the
day and night.  June 8, 1995 a similar storm raged all day and night.  People say that the
spirits of the nuns were angered at the remodeling of their home and disturbance of their
resting places.  Odd noises and the feeling of being watched have been reported here.
 

Eastland Mall: When the mall is closed for the night a man can be seen walking from store to
store checking that all is secure. If you look away for a second then, look back he will
disappear.  Local rumor is that he is the ghost of a security guard that had been killed one
night while he was working (by unknown forces)but, he still roams the mall completing his job.

Haunted School House: On a lonely gravel road going towards Dogtown a school house is off to the
right.  Loaded with graffiti this building is the rumored site of the rape and murder of 2 young
girls in the 1930s.  The crime took place in the basement of the school.  If you stand near the
entrance to the basement you will feel unnaturally cold air blowing out towards you and hear the
girls screaming and crying.

TB Hospital: Also known as Boehne Camp Hospital, this one time Tuberculosis Hospital is the site
of many paranormal events.  The 2 buildings which make up the hospital also have an underground
tunnel going to the cemetery and caretakers house across the road.  The ghosts of TB patients
who were held against their will during their illness (to prevent contamination of others)have
been spotted walking around the property.  

Willard Library: Willard Carpenter, a successful businessman, opened this library in 1885.  Upon
his death his only living child(Louise) discovered that her father had left his fortune to the
library rather than to her.  Her bitterness toward the library grew until it is said that her
spirit is trapped in the library.  Doomed to forever haunt it's halls bemoaning the fact that
her father thought more of the library than of her.  Library staff have dubbed Louise "The Grey
Lady"and have many reports of sightings of her walking around the library.  There is a 24 hour

The Gravesite of James Dean: Go to this gravesite of James Dean at midnight.  Stand near 4
perfectly trimmed and equidistant trees.  The feeling or sense of someone nearby watching or
touching you has been reported here.

Fishers

Heady Hollow:  Located at the junction of Allisonville Road and 126th St.  A long time ago there
was a terrible fire at a small schoolhouse.  The fire was out of control and all of the children
perished in it.  If you drive on this section of Allisonville Road when it is foggy you will see
children standing in the road too late for you to stop your car.  You will drive through them.  
When you finally get your car stopped there will be no sign of the children anywhere.

Flora

Old School of Flora: Located in the small town of Flora is an abandoned school.  It has stood
empty for over 20 years.  Approximately 1/4 mile down the road is a cemetery with tombs dating
back to the early 20th century.  Local rumor is that the spirits from the cemetery have taken up
residence in the abandoned schoolhouse.  People walking by have seen lights in the building.  If
you can get inside you will hear voices talking and see things moving around.

Fort Wayne

Whites Mansion: Also known as the Cement House.  A man began building this  3 story mansion for
his wife who was confined to a wheelchair.  Made entirely of cement with ramps to make it easier
for his wife, he worked day and night to complete it.  His wife died before he could finish the
mansion.  He walked away from the unfinished building after her death.  The shell of the
building has been standing over 70 years and is riddled with graffiti.  The spirit of his wife
has been seen walking through the building carrying a candle or some other form of light.

Chapman Road: Located north of Cedar Canyons Rd.  If you drive down Chapmans road to Griffin
then turn right you will come to a dip in the road.  Stop at the bottom and turn your car off.  
A force will pull your car back up the hill you just drove down.

Wal-Mart: Between 3:00 and 4:00 am workers along with shoppers in this Wal-Mart on Coldwater Rd
have reported the sound of bagpipes playing along with a man in a green plaid kilt pacing the
floors.  Cold air can be felt as he walks past you.  He is said to be a "friendly ghost".

Haunted Jail-Columbia City: The ghost of a convicted murderer has set up residence in this
retired jail.  It is used as a haunted house throughout the Halloween season.  People working
there off season report the sound of scraping along the walls, footsteps,  one door that will
not stay closed no matter what is done to it.  Also reported have been the feeling of a hand
touching either the shoulder or the hand of visitors.  Lights go on or off by themselves.

Crossroads Cemetery: The feeling of being watched, odd lights and noises.

Devil's Hollow: Look up on the hill while traveling on Cedar Canyon Rd, just before you reach
Auburn Rd.  You are supposed to see a chimney.  A woman lived in the house by herself.  Local
lore is that she murdered her husband and threw his body into the nearby creek. Kids used to
tell stories that she was a witch.  Approximately 6 months after her death, kids found an altar
in the basement and began using it for Satanic rituals.  During one ritual that got out of hand
the house burned to the ground, leaving only the chimney standing.   She is reported to be
haunting the area. Rumors of Satanic Cults holding ritual sacrifices of goats and pigs have been
repeated often in reference to this area.  The only rumor of any violent activity concerning
this spirit is if you attempt to get into the basement where her altar was located.

Devil's Hollow Cemetery: This cemetery is located in the near Homestead High School. Go back
into the woods behind Devil's Hollow to find the cemetery.  The story is that you can drop dead
if you stand still in this cemetery.

Embassy Theater: Several newspaper articles in the Journal Gazette have reported sightings of a
former maintenance man who haunts this theater.  

Fort Wayne: A lot of people think the entire city is haunted.  It is built on old Indian land.  
People claim to feel an odd presence in the old downtown section due to the Indian Burial
Grounds beneath it.

Greentown Cemetery:  Reports of numerous orbs have been made concerning this cemetery which is
located on Covington Road.

Lakeside Park Neighborhood:  This area has a rich history.  Along with once being Indian land,
it was once the site of an amusement park and dance halls.  There were also canals and locks on
the waterway.  Local residents have reported many strange sights and sounds in this area.

Main St. Bridge: A woman dressed all in white has been seen walking this bridge at night.  If
you attempt to approach her she simply disappears.  The bridge is located west of Van Buren St.  
The reported paranormal events have been documented in the local newspapers.

North Side High School:  In the 70s a magazine ran a story that featured this school and it's
many Hauntings.  One is said to be a janitor that cannot leave his job unfinished, another is a
young girl on the indoor track, an unlucky construction worker who died during the construction
of the school has also been reported  on the stage area in the auditorium.  Last but not least
is the spirit of an Indian Chief who tried to prevent the building on his tribe's burial grounds.

Snider High School:  Local urban legend about a young girl pushed into the pool as a cruel
prank.  This particular prank resulted in her death by drowning.  Although the original pool was
filled in and sealed over reports of her cries in the early morning hours continue.

Swinger's Grave: Located in Jehl's Park near Georgetown (off State St.) a young girl supposedly
got the chain of a swing around her neck killing her.  If you go to this park and swing after
midnight you will have the feeling of hands pushing you off the swing.

University of Saint Francis Library: Long ago a student hung himself in this building.  There
are unexplained "cold spots" throughout the library as well as other paranormal events.

Fowler

Haunted Church: This church is haunted by the spirit of a little girl looking for her mother.  A
news show has recorded a little girls voice saying "mommy" while in the attic.

Francesville

Moody Lane: Two brothers were out for a ride one night in the family buggy.  One brother fell
out of the buggy and the wheel drove over him cutting off his head.  If you go here at night you
will see the light of a lantern as the remaining brother searches the corn field for his
brothers' head.  You are supposed to drive down the lane, turn around and drive back then turn
off your car.  If you flash your headlights 3 times you will see the brother holding the lantern
cross the road in front of you.

Smith Graveyard: A man and woman (on opposites sides of the road) were rumored to have been
killed on the road near this cemetery as they were secretly meeting.  If you go to this cemetery
at midnight you will see the man and woman standing there on opposite sides.  You will then see
the woman crossing the road to meet the man.  This cemetery is located near Moody Lane.

Frankfort

Sleepy Hollow/Haunted Railroad Trestle/Haunted Railroad: These 3 places seem to be(at least to
me) one and the same.  If you stop your car near the train crossing, sprinkle powder over the
hood and trunk before crossing the tracks, then drive over the crossing slowly handprints are
supposed to appear on your car.  Some say the prints are placed there by evil spirits.  Others
say they are the prints of children who have been killed at this crossing.  There is also a
local legend of a woman committing suicide on the tracks after discovering her husband was
unfaithful.  On foggy nights you are supposed to see her walking onto the tracks and hear her
screaming.

Franklin

Franklin College:  Old Main is a building which is being used for administration offices and
classrooms.  In the early morning hours during the 1980s  a fire destroyed a residence hall and
gutted the attic, killing a student who had run there in an attempt to escape the fire.  
Students have reported the smell of burning flesh and the sound of screams.  In the past, the
smell has been bad enough to cause the cancellation of classes.

Fremont

Ray Road: Located on Ray Road is the McNaughton Family Cemetery.  There are reports of people
levitating between the tombstones here.  If you walk between the tombstones a force will lift
you off the ground and you will still move forward without touching the ground.  There are also
cold pockets and the feeling of people brushing past you.

French Lick

Horse Field: In the 1800s in  a 5 acre field there were 2 beautiful black horses and their colt.
 A sudden fierce storm, which many claim was unlike any storm they had ever experienced, hit the
field.  The horses ran to a large oak tree in the field for shelter.  3 lightning bolts came
from the sky and hit the horses striking them dead.  If you go to this field when a storm is
brewing you will hear the horses running toward the oak tree.  If lightning strikes it will
light up the field and you will see the 3 horses standing under the oak tree.

Gas City

Old East School: People have heard the sound of children playing and laughing while the merry go
round spins unassisted on the playground behind this school.

Georgetown

Devil's Dip: On a large hill there is a section near a house known as Devil's Dip.  The legend
is that a little girl was playing near the road late one night.  A car, driving too fast, hit
the girl and killed her.  If you drive down this road close to midnight you will see the girl
playing near a telephone pole directly across from the house.

Goshen

Oak Ridge Cemetery: On the grave of Michael Bashor is a statue of an angel.  The angel is
supposed to cry tears of blood.

Greencastle

Boone Hutch Cemetery: There is a cave under this cemetery with a grave near it's entrance.  
Reports of bodies tumbling out of their coffins into the underground cave.  A shadowy figure has
been seen near the entrance to the cave looking out before turning and entering the cave.  The
spirit of a police officer has been seen inside the cemetery with a blue light beside him.  
There are also reports of dogs with glowing eyes (red) chasing cars out of the cemetery.

DePauw University: Built in 1837, this college has earned a reputation as being haunted.  This
is due to the large number of night custodians who have quit their job because they refused to
work in a haunted building.

Edgelea: Sitting by the train tracks after dark in this town will earn you a glimpse of phantom
hobos jumping on and off the train.  One woman in the neighborhood has reported seeing the
spirit of a hobo in her backyard and heard him knocking at her back door to beg for food.

Edna Collings Bridge: This bridge has a story dating back to the early 1920s.  A young girl
liked to swim in the water under this bridge.  When it was time for her to go home her parents
would drive onto the bridge and honk 3 times as the signal that it was time for her to get out
of the water and come home with them.  One day when the parents drove onto the bridge and gave
the signal she did not come to the car.  She had drowned earlier in the day.  If you drive onto
this bridge at night, turn off you car and honk 3 times the spirit of the girl will come up and
get into the car with you to be driven home.

Greenfield

Weston Village: In a 5 mile area known as Weston Village there is a housing edition along with
apartments.  One resident has reported seeing a figure that can only be described as a "Cyclops"
standing at the foot of her bed.  There have been other sightings of this being throughout the
community.

Griffith

Griffith High School: In a girls bathroom at this school the story goes that you will see the
reflection of a young girl who hung herself there a long time ago.  There is also supposed to be
a spirit of a young man in the library at night.  The local legend about him is that he was
studying in the library when he suddenly stood up, knocking over his chair, clutched his chest
while gasping for air before falling to the floor dead.  At night you may see a chair suddenly
fall over as if he is there reliving the incident.

Reeder Road: Elizabeth Wilson was involved in a car accident on this road (in 1955) which led to
her death by drowning in the nearby swamp.  She is buried in Ross Cemetery just down the road
from the accident site.  Late at night, Elizabeth stands by the road waiting for someone to stop
and give her a ride home.  After she gets in your car and you go down the road she will
disappear when you reach Ross Cemetery

Hammond

Bishop Noll Institute Auditorium: A young woman hung herself from the stage lights in this
auditorium after failing to get the lead role in a play.  It is said that whenever an
actor/actress gets a lead role with a lot of lines they are the victim of unexplained "accidents
or illness" such as broken legs, falling off the stage during a performance, choking, and
laryngitis.

Bishop Noll Institute A Wing 2nd Floor: The sound of footsteps and people talking when no one is
around.  Chairs falling off desks in the lab.  A cold spot on a step outside the library where a
student plunged to his death.

Gavit High School: This school is reported to be haunted.  You may hear footsteps on the roof of
the building, windows that were closed will be open the next day, the sound of metal banging
together and screaming can be heard inside the building as well.  All reports specify that these
things happen at midnight.

Haunted House: This house is located at 36 Detroit St.  There have been reports of cold spots,
objects being moved or thrown, footsteps, the feeling of someone touching you, voices and the
feeling of being watched.  There is also a report of the sighting of a doppelganger.

Jayme House: In the upstairs bedrooms there have been numerous reports of glowing eyes, foul
odors, noises and a door opening by itself even if it is blocked shut or not.  At midnight you
can hear the sound of children playing, laughing, running and footsteps overhead.  There have
been reported sightings of a young girl (aprox. 8 years old) appearing in various areas in the
house.

Old Botanical Gardens/Reaper's Realm: 2 women have been seen in and around this mansion,
including the woods behind it.  The women seem to be working in the background.  They are
rumored to be the women that owned the property before their death.

Ridge Road: A bride ran into the Calumet River where the weight of her wedding gown caused her
to drown.  On Halloween you will see her ghost near the spot where she died.  There is also
supposed to be the ghost of an accident victim here as well.

Circus Train: A Circus Train travelling through this area crashed and caught fire.  All of the
performers died in the fire. They haunt the area.

Saint Casimir's School: A 1953 fire at this school caused the deaths of the janitor and a young
female student.  The janitor has been seen standing at the end of the hall watching the
students.  The girl has been seen in the bathroom.

Hancock

Wilkinson-McCreay Cemetery: This cemetery is reported to be haunted.

Thomas Road: A cemetery on this road has 2 large stones set into the path leading into the
cemetery.  These stones appear to be moved each time you pass them.  The graves in this cemetery
date back to the early 1800s.  There have been sightings of blood on some of the stones here.  
There are noises heard from the nearby woods which seem to get closer to the cemetery the longer
you are there.

Hanna

Haunted House: A man decided to kill his twin daughters one night.  After tying the ropes to the
tree limbs in the woods near his home he went to get his daughters.  His wife fought with him to
save the children from death at their fathers hands.  After subduing his wife, he proceeded to
hang both of his daughters.  After they were dead he turned his shotgun onto his wife, killing
her and then shot himself.  At night, walking through the woods you will see him fixing the
ropes to the tree limbs, fighting with his wife and finally the horrible deaths of all 4 family
members.   

Hanover

Hanover Beach: A minister drowned near this beach while swimming.  He was attempting to get help
for a riverboat that was sinking offshore.  He is usually seen during foggy weather around 2:00
am.

Hanover Cemetery: Benjamin Bennett is the name on the tombstone in this cemetery that causes
chills and the feeling of nausea to whoever stands in front of it.  He drowned in the Ohio River
while a student at Hanover College.  His body was never recovered.

Hanover College - Parker Auditorium: The late Dr. A G Parker (past college president) still
roams the auditorium here.  Reports of odd sounds, voices, missing items and sightings of his
spirit have been around for over 25 years.

Hanover College - Donner Residence Hall: Objects moving in the area of the East Wing are blamed
on the spirit of a student who committed suicide in his room.

Hanover Nursing Center: A piano playing by itself along with omens of death(green mist in photos
and balloons bouncing into a room).

Hebron

Hebron High School: This school was built in the 1930s.  Rumor is that a young girl arrived, on
Halloween Night, for her prom.  Her date had promised to meet her there.  She believed that he
was the "love of her life".  Near the close of Prom she took some rope and hung herself in the
girls bathroom.  If you go to the school on Halloween at midnight, enter the bathroom and turn
off the light you will see her hanging from one of the stall doors.

Hebron Train Depot: In the early 1800s this depot was an important business for Hebron.  It
employed a lot of the townspeople.  One of the workers ( age 23) had a fight with his wife
before leaving for work.  His anger made him careless at work and he was killed by a train.  The
train station eventually closed.  Late, McDonald's had a restaurant on the location of the depot
and reports of employees arriving at work to find the place trashed were common.  Things thrown
around and broken were reported.  No business has ever thrived in this location.  Some say the
spirit of the young man is still venting his anger on those around him.

Hedley:

Hedley Cemetery: Rumors are that you will have unexplainable feelings of self destruction and
hear odd noises or voices while in this cemetery.

Heltonville

McCarthur House: A "white" figure has been seen running from this house as you approach it.  
Supposedly the spirit of whoever murdered 4 people here in the 1970s.

Henry

The "Pest" House: Once a house where smallpox sufferers were quarantined in the early 1900s,
this house has been the home to a lot of sickness and death.  Rumor is that a lot of restless
spirits are still here.  One story is of a local historian visiting the home.  He knocked on the
front door which was opened by an "odd looking woman" who told him that no one was at home
before closing the door in his face.  As he was preparing to leave, the owner of the house
arrived and upon hearing the story proceeded to search the entire house.  No one was found
inside the home.

The White House: The names of people who are to die soon appear on the walls of this house in
what looks like blood.  Also the bathtub is supposed to be surrounded by blood.

Henryville

Dan's Run: A young man named Daniel Guthrie was murdered.  His body was placed in a shallow
grave near the corner of Pixley Knob Road and Cemetery Hill(Mountain Grove).  His remains were
not found for a year.  Once found he was unearthed and given a proper burial in the Mt. Zion
Cemetery.  Homes located near the original burial site have reported seeing a young man with a
bushy handlebar mustache walking nearby.  Doors seem to open and close at random, footprints
have been found outside of windows, footsteps have been heard where none should be, ghostly
whispering and objects moving under their own power have also been reported by homeowners.  
There is also a rumor that a tape recorder that was left on Daniel's tombstone recorded a faint
male voice crying out " Help me, God help me, please help me."

Mt. Zion Cemetery: A young woman that was killed in the early 1900s on Henryville Blue Lick Road
haunts the cemetery where she was laid to rest.  She appears to be glowing green when you see
her.  Reports are that she will get on your car in hopes of getting a ride home from you.  After
she leaves there is still a green "goo" on your car.  It will not vanish.  It must be washed off.

Highland

Highland High School:  People have made numerous reports of the sounds of basketballs bouncing
in the gym as well as a young boy running laps who mysteriously disappears.  The spirit is said
to be that of a student that died while playing basketball in this gym.  School officials deny
this.

Hitysville

Hitysville Public Library: October 28, 1943 was the date of a freak accident that claimed the
life of a librarian.  A bookshelf of books dealing with the supernatural collasped onto the
unlucky librarian, killing him.  The library has been shut down and is empty but, on the
anniversary of the accident, the sounds of unidentified banging and scratching, the bookshelf
falling, moans and screams for help have been heard here.


Hobart

Hobart Cemetery: If you are in this cemetery after dark and go near the woods, you will hear a
baby crying.  The baby is the restless spirit of an infant.  Photos taken in this area usually
show an inordinate amount of orbs in them.

Haunted House: This abandoned house near Liberty School has earned the reputation of being
haunted.  The oldest son of a very wealthy family was a hopeless drug addict.  During one of his
drug episodes he killed his younger sister.  He was tried and convicted of the crime.  While in
jail, the young man killed himself rather than live with the guilt he felt.  If you stand near
the house after dark you will hear the little girl running and playing inside.

Huntington

Forks of the Wabash: In the room described as the "servants quarters" in the remodeled home of
Chief Richardsonville there is a pillar of icy cold air.  All that have walked through this area
have described the cold there.  They have also claimed to feel a strong feeling of being watched
whenever they are in this room.

Horace Mann School: This school was closed and later made over into an apartment building.  
Sightings of spirits (both children and adults) along with reports of odd sounds have been made
by residents and visitors here.

Huntington College - Physical Education Recreation Room: The spirit that inhabits the room here
has only been seen by men.  A woman wearing a long white gown floats through the hallways.  
There have also been reports of showers turning on by themselves and toilets flushing with no
one nearby.

Polk Road: If you drive onto the train tracks on this road your car will die on the tracks.  A
woman who died on these same tracks will appear and push your car to safety.  Afterwards she
will enter your car and attempt to enter the body of one of you in order to let them experience
her death as she did.  After she leaves your car it will be covered in blood.

Huron

Haunted Grave (chain grave): In the 1800s a slave was beaten to death by his owner using a
logging chain.  The wife of the slave sought the help of a local Shaman to curse the slave
owner.  His curse is to be reminded of the slaves death for eternity.  After the slave owners
death and burial, a chain appeared on his tombstone.  Each year another link is added to this
chain.

Hymera

Bethel Cemetery: Nathan Hinkle, a soldier who died during the Revolutionary War, is buried in
this haunted cemetery.  If you find his grave, you are to walk around it 3 times repeating his
name once for each time around.  After this he is supposed to talk to you.

Indianapolis

Cathedral High School: This school is the former Ladywood High School which was run by a group
of nuns known as the Sisters of Providence.  In Loretto Hall the basement was for physical
education, classes were held on the first floor, student dormitory on the 2nd floor and the nuns
dormitory was on the 3rd floor (attic).  Nuns have been sighted walking the halls of the 2nd
floor at night when the former students should have been asleep.  Candlelight has also been seen
in the attic rooms.

Old Central State Hospital/Asylum: Located on Warman Avenue, this building and it's grounds are
reputed to be haunted by the spirits of long dead mental patients who suffered at the hands of
unscrupulous care givers here.  Apparitions have been seen to mysteriously disappear and the
screams of patients can be heard.  There is a Medical Museum on the grounds in what used to be
the morgue.  This is also supposed to be haunted.  Tours are available here.

Decatur Central High School: In October 1979 a carload of teenagers (who had been drinking)
crashed into the school auditorium, killing one of the girls in the car.  For several weeks
after the accident the smell of burning rubber and continual problems with the electricity
plagued the school.  Each year near the anniversary of the accident the smell of burning rubber,
problems with the electricity and sightings of a young girl weeping have been reported.

Edgewood River: If you stand on the banks of this river you may hear the sounds of splashing and
cries for help from a young boy who drowned here.

Fall Creek Parkway Bridge: On the east side of Fall Creek Parkway (across from Indiana State
Fairgrounds)lies an abandoned bridge which would take you to Millersville Road.  Rumor is that a
young boy pushed his younger brother off the bridge and stood by watching his brother drown.  If
you stand near the bridge you are supposed to hear the splash as the boy falls into the river
and the sounds of him drowning.

Hannah House: Apparitions, strange noises and unusual odors have been reported here.

House of Blue Lights: A man and his young wife lived in this mansion located on Meridian St.  
When she died he could not bear the thought of burying her.  He reportedly had a coffin made of
glass and when his wife was sealed into it the coffin was placed in the tower room.  He would
visit the coffin each night in the tower room, which was lit by blue lights (her favorite).  If
you go by this mansion at night you may see the blue lights in the tower as he visits with her
once again.

Indiana Repertory Theater: The mezzanine of this theater is haunted by the spirit of it's first
Artistic Director.  He used to jog around the mezzanine whenever the weather was too cold, rainy
or foggy outside.  He was killed in a freak accident when his own nephew ran him over with the
car as he was jogging in the fog.  The sound of the mezzanine floorboards creaking and groaning
as if someone were jogging on them can be heard during inclement weather.

Indianapolis Athletic Club:  During a fire here in the early 90s a young fireman lost his life.  
His spirit is still in the building attempting to wake up sleeping guests in the middle of the
night.

Indianapolis City County Building: a special elevator was constructed in this building at it's
inception.  This elevator was used to escort important prisoners or witnesses upstairs.  In the
1960s a witness in a mafia case was shot and killed in this elevator by one of the police
officers escorting him to court.  (rumor was that he was a mafia hit man in disguise)  After the
killing all power to the elevator was disconnected and the entrance blocked off.  Reports have
been made of the elevator running, screams and shots heard near the shaft and the ghost of the
murdered witness wandering the building.

I P S School Number 50: Located on the cities west side, behind Indianola Park this school is
the site of loud banging and cold spots.

James A Allison Mansion: This mansion was acquired from the James and Sarah Allison estate as
part of the campus of Marian College.  Students lived in the former garage, the nuns dorms were
in the attic, classes were held in the rest of the building and in the greenhouse.  It is now
used for conferences.  From the time it was used for classes to present day there have been
reports of several strange happenings.  Keys go missing, furniture is rearranged and objects are
moved.  The basement is the location of an indoor pool where a baby can be heard crying.  The
accepted story is that a baby drowned in the pool while the mansion was still under the
ownership of the Allisons.  The baby was not theirs but belonged to one of their servants.

Magic Moments Restaurant: Located at 1 Pennsylvania Street, the top floor of this restaurant is
reputed to be haunted.  During the night after closing, glasses are moved from the tables and
set upon the floor, table setting are moved, cold spots can be felt and a "bad vibe" can be felt
on the office side.  Local legend about this building is that in the past illegal boxing matches
were held here.  Several boxers died from injuries they received during these illegal matches.  
It is thought that the spirits of these boxers haunt here.

Marian College - Stokely Mansion:  Forbidding feelings and chills have been felt here.   
Apparitions of a brunette woman running off the side porch to a waiting carriage and a man
walking his dog have been spotted here.  There are also reports of people feeling a "gentle
push" while on the dogpath here.

Paul Ruster Park Cemetery: Years ago a young boy was killed on the train tracks near this
cemetery.  He is buried in what used to be the foundation of his home.  If you walk the path
through the woods toward his gravesite you may hear him
