| Most of us love a good haunted place. The creepiness,the atmosphere, the overwhelming feeling that you could possibly be raped, murdered, or better yet, possessed by some otherworldly being.( Oh what I wouldn't give for a nice bit of possession. Nudge,nudge,wink,wink.) But...for each haunt of "Exorcist" magnitude there are, unfortunately, the sites with the dull equivalence of "Exorcist II" or pointlessness of "Exorcist III". So, here is my list of "Haunted Places That Suck Don't Suck and Can't Suck Because They're Not There Anymore" |

#1 Sucky Haunt:
JEROME CEMETERY
Although this cemetery has a definite non-sucking reputation in and around the Howard County
area, it's this rep that makes it an even bigger disappointment.
I've wasted many hours hoping for a glimpse of the "red eyed dog" and / or his "caped master"
only to be tired, worn-out and half eaten by bugs.
Alas, there is nothing here to even raise the hackles of a drunken high school sophomore. For
that reason alone Jerome Cemetery rates a force 10 on the suck scale.

Peaceful Acres
Peaceful Acres
A little lower on the suck scale is the ever popular Peaceful Acres of Bunker Hill. Actually, it's not in Bunker
Hill, but a few miles down the road.. It was tougher to find because it's nothing but a row of about ten
trailers set back in the trees
We found the right trailer but there isn't any chicken coop. The sign is kind of cool just because it's old and
needs painted and that's about as creepy as this place gets.
It's not a disappointment because you know right away that it's gonna suck. Nothing to get worked up about....
just keep driving....UPDATE! There was a meth lab bust at Peaceful Acres! There's more to worry about
than just a hungry ghost...be careful.

1. Edna Collins Bridge:
We were there kind of early. There was a lot of traffic.
Nothing happened for us, but....there were covered bridge buffs checking out the
bridge, some of them not realizing it was supposed to be haunted. Also a group of
teenagers turned up later to check it out because it is haunted. They were really
cool and provided some of the local aspect to the legend. Thank guys.
Is it haunted? Logan, Amber, Moleigh, Drew, and James seemed convinced that
it is...maybe next time we'll head out later and sit on the bridge till we are chased
off.(... by police or ghost whichever shows up first). Until then....
